St. Luke's Medical Center

The Urology Training programs in the Philippines are now accepting applicants for residency training. There are currently two ways of entering into these programs and they are as follows:

       1. Straight Program - this is a 6 year program wherein the accepted resident has to go through 2 years of General Surgery training in the same institution after which he/she will then be accepted into the next 4-Year Urology Proper Training. The resident is already tagged to proceed through the next 4 years of urology training unless he/she is unable to finished the 1st 2 years of general surgery training or fails in the evaluation of his/her performance. Eligible for this are Medical School graduates licensed to practice medicine in the Philippines.

       2. 4 Year Urology Training Program - some institutions do not have straight programs and they only accept residents into the 4-Year Urology Training Program. Eligible for this program are those with at least 2 years of General Surgery training accredited by the PSGS.

Residents are trained to become proficient in: Robotic Surgery, Endourology, Laparoscopic Urology, Neurourology, Sexual dysfunction, the Evaluation and Treatment of Incontinence, among others.
